"Celtic get AUL Premier C Sunday campaign off on winning note"

AUL PremierC Sunday

15th August 2010

Celtic had to travel away for their opening league game as their own pitch in Porterstown is under maintenance.  They nevertheless reaped the rewards of a thorough preparation under their new manager Paul Remo Sweeney.  Remo is remembered for his heroics in the Celtic double winning side under Brian Cummins in 1996.  Today is was the bread and butter of getting the league campaign off to a winning start.  Remo was naturally delighted with 3 points from his first fixture back at Celtic.

New boy, and third member of the U'tway family, Whor, hit Celtic into the lead early in the second half.  This was followed by Ray Kelly's effort being handled on the line that resulted in the second U'tway, Weah, stepping up and coolly hitting the back of the net from the penalty spot.  It was Larry Jacobe (last year's strike in pic below) who hit the third with a header from a corner 10 mins from time.

Their next outing is against St Maelruans from Tallaght.
