Castleknock

Castleknock Celtic  4  Glebe North  0

NDSL U-8A

24th Oct. 2009

Castleknock went in to this game on an unbeaten run of 6 games between re-grade and this difficult new league. Glebe North provided the opposition in this one and on a windy day Castleknock were slow to start which has been a feature of this team's season so far. There was very little between these teams in the opening half and Joe Gleeson was tested several times with his full backs Jack Kearney and Robert Lynch doing their best. Castleknock had difficulty getting forward with Ben Blanche and Mark Hughes limited to a couple of half chances and the up front man Brian Dalton only having one real chance in the first half.

After a "real" talking to from their manager and a couple of changes at half time, Castleknock came out firing on all cylinders in the second half.  A neat interchange of passing involving Vilius Labutis put Lewis Kilkenny through and he finished neatly. Castleknock began to find the form that has seen them unbeaten and again good passing saw them double their lead, a through ball from Lewis Kilkenny put Noma Eradawu through and he again finished well.

Glebe North were then denied twice by Joe Gleeson who pulled off two fine saves.  Castleknock made some more changes and Ben Blanche and Sam Turner showed real class at the back. Castleknock went on to close out this game with a goal from Brian Dalton.  Man Of The Match was Joe Gleeson.  4-0
