Table-toppers Rush Athletic, with a 100% record from their opening five games, came to Porterstown, deservedly feeling very confident.  Rush took an early lead, but this just spurred on the home side, and after crafting a number of fine attempts, their efforts were finally rewarded by a great individual effort from striker Nick Messina. Half time 1-1.

Second half, Rush came charging out of the blocks.  But Castleknock's defence, orchestrated by Tadhg Hanlon in goal, stood firm, and very soon, they started to take a grip of the game. Their second goal must be a contender for this team's goal of the season - Husan Ijaz, tearing down the left side, pulled across a beautiful pass which Conor Mullen struck on the half volley, leaving the Rush keeper with no chance. 2-1

Castleknock piled on the pressure, and had hit the post twice before Husan Ijaz scored their third following another fine cross into the box. Rush scored a second, deserved goal, which led to a nervy final few minutes, but Castleknock held on for a superb, well deserved victory. Great effort by all the team, particularly the midfield. Eoin O'Donnchu deserves special mention for his effort, brilliant tackling and numerous superb defence splitting passes.  3-2
