Castleknock Celtic 1 Drumcondra
3
NDSL 11D
20th Sept.
2009

Celtic were desperately unlucky
in this home fixture not to get something from this
game. They battled long and hard, and at the end
they just came up short on a day that they left their
shooting boots at home.

The home side found themselves
2-0 early on, and the omens were there that this would
not be their day. Despite this early setback
however, they fought back to 2-1 down at the break, with
a Luke Kearney strike.
Keeper Cormac Harmon was in
superb form, and he kept Drums at bay when the visitors
threatened, and his heroics between the sticks ensured
Celtic were in this game right to the end, when Drums
got a breakaway goal which flattered them. In
truth, this was a very close contest, and with a more
favourable rub of the green, the result could have been
very different. 1-3 |
