23/24 January 2010

AUL Div2 Sat (P Finn): Keith Pendred gives Celtic the perfect send-off.  He headed Celtic's winner against Orchard Utd in Porterstown.  They now head to Manchester for the weekend, where they will pop up to Wigan for their Premier League game v Everton.  Bon voyage to them all, a well-deserved reward for winning the Cullen Cup last season.  1-0

NDSL 11E (M Farrell): This was always going to be difficult for Celtic, drawn away in the Haughey Cup  against Rush Athletic from 3 divisions above them.  Celtic were well in the game at half time having defended fantastically, and were just 0-1 down at the break.  Rush got the upper hand in the second half, and despite Celtic's Adam Rahaman scoring a brilliant goal, the seasiders finished 5-1 winners.  1-5

DDSL 11D (Derek Dixon):  It was a tale of the 2 Ruairís in Porterstown.  Drimnagh Celtic fancied themselves for all 3 points, especially after going in front.  Castleknock hauled themselves back into the game and were level at the break through a Ruairí Dixon goal.  He and Ruairí McLaughlin added goals in the second half and ran out 3-2 winners.  John Byrne was involved with 2 of the goals.  3-2

NDSL 12Prem (S Dooley):

DDSL 12B (A Kelly): Celtic let a 2 goal lead slip as they lose 5-3 to Howth Celtic in Porterstown. Ruben Ferreira was Celtic's hat-trick marksman.  3-5

DDSL 12C (Gavin/Steve): Ryan Baguerra was Celtic's hero with a last gasp equaliser to earn his team a share of the points at home to Templeogue Utd. 1-1

DDSL 14Maj (B Kennedy): Half-time stalemate at 0-0 was followed by an eruption of goals.  Celtic shot into a 2-0 lead and there was a sense that they would continue their good run which was interrupted by the bad winter.  But Dunboyne hit back hard and some Kamakaze defending saw the Celtic boys go down to a rare defeat.  Aaron Mooney was the brace man for Celtic.  2-3

NDSL 14C (T Hanlon):Celtic show their mettle as they put league leaders to the sword.

DDSL 14B (D Byrne): Celtic bounced back from a 2-goal deficit to earn all 3 points in Porterstown.  They pulled one back before the half time whistle with a goal from Dylan Singleton.  Man of the match James Carolan hit 2 to put Celtic 3-1 ahead.  Thomas Byrne and Matt Murphy completed the scoring for the home team which consolidates their position in the middle of the league table. 5-2

NDSL 15A (A Kelly): Great charachter shown by a team to battle back from 3 nil down to defeat St Ita's in the Cup 4 v 3. Great all round performance, special merit to Deane Kelly, Patrick Dunne, Rob Kelly, and Ryan Redmond for second half performances.  Connor Murphy was top notch in both halves. 4-3
