19/20
September 2009
AUL Div2 Sat (P Finn): Superb 5-0 away win
over Greenfield Park Boys. Celtic overwhelmed
their opponents with a power-display. John Moriarty was
yet again cracking 'em in, getting 2 more. Darren
Kinsella matched John on this occasion, while Keith
Pendred completed the scoring. 5-0
LSL Maj1B Sat (Ray Bowe): No goals in this
home game in Porterstown
AUL PremC Sun (Ed OCallaghan): Celtic's
Snr side hit their old Nemesis GreenPark for Six away in
the Nivea Cup. Highlight of the game was Larry Jacobe's
hat-trick which he had just missed out on the week
before. He is in a rich vein of scoring form at present.
Kevin Keane, Alan Bohan, and Weah t'Uway completed the
rout. 6-0
AUL Div2 Sun (P Hoey): Celtic went down
by the odd goal in 5 at home to Celtic Bhoys in a very
close game that could have gone either way. 2-3.
NDSL 8Prem (P Killian): Titanic struggle in
Ratoath ends in win for Celtic. 2-0.

DDSL 8C (Craig Shiels):
NDSL 8D (Pat Reilly) :
DDSL 9C (P Danaher): Castleknock Celtic 2-4
Finglas : Castleknock lost a close encounter to
Finglas. A poor start saw Castleknock concede 2 early
goals before Gavin harney pulled 1 back before half
time. 2 early goals conceded in the second half left
Castleknock a mountain to climb but a goal from a Luke
Danaher corner gave hope. Unfortunately Castleknock then
missed a penalty and Finglas ran out winners. 2-4
NDSL 9B (P Mason): Cracking win for Celtic 3-1
away to Cloughertown. 3-1.

NDSL 9D (C Jones):
DDSL 9F (Shane White): Ayoub
hits a beautiful brace in Celtic's 2-0 away
victory v St Columbans to maintain their 100% record after their first
3 outings. They have conceded no goals so
far, and this is down to brilliant defending. We
have to mention keeper sensation Darragh O'Riordan, who
kept another clean sheet with 3 World-class saves.
Their 2 central defenders, Andy Rogers and David Nugent
were magnificent. Manager Shane White and his
coach, Brian Cummins, who is recovering from
back surgery in Blackrock Clinic, were
delighted with the team's start to the season. The U-9s
and the rest of us wish Brian a speedy recovery to his
coaching role. 2-0
NDSL 10P+ (T Rush): This was a bad day
at the office as Celtic went down 4-0 away to Ashbourne.
0-4
NDSL 10P (A Schmidt):
DDSL 10C (T Molloy): Celtic's 10C put down
marker with 2-0 home win v Lakelands. 2-0

NDSL 10D (M Stevens):
NDSL 10F (Sean Porter)
DDSL 10D (Rob Ryan)
NDSL 11B (E Mullen):
NDSL 11E (M Farrell): Drums are flattered
by 3-1 margin of victory over a brave Celtic.

DDSL 11D (Derek Dixon):
NDSL 12Prem (S Dooley):
Brian Whelan and Sean Linnane were the men of the match
in this away game v Navan Road Utd. Celtic had to
settle for a share of the points, though they had
chances to take all 3. 0-0. DDSL 12B (A Kelly): Celtic overcame Rivermount
Boys away by a margin of 4 goals to 2. This was a
very convincing victory for Celtic, despite having a
very depleted squad through injury. Stuart Harold,
Nedin Hivacic, John Lennon-Maher and Jordan Barnes, were
Celtic's marksmen. 4-2
DDSL 12C (Gavin/Steve): NDSL 12D
(R Barron):
First win of the season for Celtic in defeating Maynooth
Town 2-1 in this League Cup away fixture. 2-1.
NDSL 12Girls:
NDSL 13Prem (F Murphy):
NDSL 13B (Conor/Martin): Balscadden
found the going too tough in Porterstown against a
fired-up Celtic. A brace each for Gary McCabe and
Darragh Conway, with a goal each for Ryan O'Neill and
Jordan Toland, gave the home side a comfortable cushion
in the end. Man of the match was Oran O'Donoghue
who as usual played it simple and effective, with plenty
of commitment. 6-2.
 NDSL 13C (J
O'Leary): This Celtic side suffered a rare defeat, going down 4-2 away
to B-league division Swords Celtic. 2-4.
 DDSL 14Maj (B Kennedy): Aaron
Mooney hit Celtic level just before half time at home to
WFTA in Porterstown. The visitors restored their
lead when the home side failed to clear their lines or
make the decisive tackles. It was left to the
long-serving Keelan McAnerin, from a pass from Owen
Newman, to strike home his equalising goal midway
through the second half to earn a share of the points.
NDSL 14C
(T Hanlon):
DDSL 14B (D Byrne):
NDSL 14D
(Gerry/Oleg):
NDSL 15Prem (J Roe): Celtic opened up the
throttle on a beautiful morning in Porterstown, against
Balbriggan, with Brian Slevin's hat-trick being the
highlight of the game. Patrick Rocca also chalked
his first of the season with a swivel turn and shot into
the far corner of the net, a sweet way to round off a very
comprehensive victory. 6-1
DDSL 15Maj (D
Bradshaw): NDSL 15A (A Kelly): Celtic
maintained their fine start to the season with another
win, defeating Malahide Utd 1-0 away at the seaside.
Sean Zambra was again on the scoresheet, which ensures a
quarter final place for Celtic in the League Cup.
Aidan Black played a captain's part, for which he earned
the man of the match award. Managers Andy Kelly
and Bernie Elliott are looking forward to a savoury
opposition in the quarter final. What about a
Castleknock Celtic derby, wouldn't come much tastier
than that. 1-0. NDSL 15C
(Pierce/Willie):
Narrow defeat for Celtic as they go down 1-0 at home to
Artane Beaumont. 0-1. DDSL 16Prem
(D Hanlon):
NDSL 16A
(SODonnchú):
Dunshaughlin were good value for the 3 points in
Porterstown. 0-3. NDSL 16B (B Smith):
DDSL 17Maj (J Moriarty): NDSL 18A
(G Hunt): Gerry Hunt was very happy with his
side's comfortable win over Huntstown Villa.
Highlight of the match was a Gerardesque finish from the
edge of the box by Paul Hunt, who curled a beauty in off
the underside of the crossbar, with which he was very
pleased - well worth the admission fee! 6-0. |
