"Celtic SFAI Adventure continues with Cracking Win"

Under-14s Goodson Cup

22 Nov. 08

Celtic's DDSL U-14 Major side continued their winning run in all cup competitions with a fabulous 6-1 win in Sallynoggin in this Goodson Cup 4th round game.  Celtic have been playing  great football in recent weeks without any reward but today it all came right.

From the start the mid field trio of Sean Hoare, Kevin Flanagan and Adam Noonan, dominated. Their movement and passing was magnificent, with long and penetrating passing sequences. The  first goal came after 15 mins, when Sean Conroy rose to score a classic textbook header from Sean Hoare's corner.

Goal no 2 came 5 mins later, when again Eoin Bradshaw's powerful shot from 30 yards found the top corner of the net.  Another Hoare corner was headed home by the impressive Adam Noonan. Scoring in the first half was completed by Stephen Treadwell after great work on the wing by last week's man of the match against Leiciester Celtic, John McGivern.

Celtic continued to dominate in the second half and wrapped up a place in 5th round of this prestigious cup with goals from Treadwell and Noonan.  Others to come close to scoring included Paul Daly, Robbie Kavanagh and Mark Conroy. Adam Weafer had a quiet afternoon, as Shane Dunne, Stephen Kenna and Eoin Bradshaw stood firm. Ian McSherry made a very welcome return after a long layoff from injury.

Fingers crossed for a favourable draw in the 6th round.
