Celtic's Under-12s beat Lusk Utd 4 - 2 away in 1st round
of Kevin After a slow start Celtic got in to their stride and created lots of chances and it appeared as though it was going to be one of days, when the ball just wouldn't go in. Men of the match Anthony Healy and Oran O'Donoghue did a superb job in defence snuffing out any Lusk attacks. Gary McCabe was first to strike for Celtic. A defensive error let Lusk back level but Celtic showed great determination and Gary scored straight away with his 2nd. 2-1 at half time. As in the first half, loads of chances were created, but went a-beggin'. Then Mathew Doyle stepped up and made it three. Shortly after, Conor O'Ceallaigh blasted home from distance to make it 4-1. Lusk didn't give up, and as our valiant defenders grew tired, with virtually the last kick of the match, their centre forward broke through, the keeper came out to meet him and the ball was scooped over his head. 4-2 While not a classic, this was a good all round team performance with lots of creative football being played. |
