April 2009
AUL Div2A Sat : Double-chasing Celtic remain
on course. After a share of the points agains
league leaders Ballycragh during the week, Peter Finn's
crew battled their way into the semi-final of the
Cullen Cup with a brace from James Haughton.
This was their second victory over Greenfield Park Boys
in 2 weeks. 2-0
LSL Maj1D Sat : Celtic are poised for yet
another league championship. They put 3 past St
Judes on Saturday without reply. If they win next
Thursday week against Tymon Celtic, they will take
the league title for the second year running. We need
all the support we can muster for this game. 3-0
AUL Senior Sun : Celtic were in cruise
control in the end. They had a narrow advantage at
half time 2-1 and the game was still in the balance.
Some changes brought a change in fortunes and they ended
with a comfortable 6-1 win. 6-1
AUL Div3 Sun : Latest: At half
time Celtic were on level terms. They had fallen
behind to a Crumlin goal, but a stunning shot from Aaron
McAdam brought parity at half time.

NDSL 11Prem: Sean Dooley's team had the tables
turned on them in Porterstown. Having defeated
Clontarf FC 1-0 on Friday night away from home, the
result was reversed when Clontarf won 3-2 in Porterstown.
They were undone by 2 soft goals. Demi Dare added
to his impressive tally with another couple of goals.
0-1
DDSL 11B: In a tricky fixture, Celtic put in
an excellent performance and led 1-0 at half time,
thanks to a clinical finish by Greg Tobin. They
relaxed and let Sacred Heart back into the game to level
it at 1-1. But a few "encouraging" words boosted
Celtic back into action and yet another Greg Tobin goal
saw them home and hosed with 3 points. 2-1
NDSL 11C:
NDSL 11D: Roy Barron and Bob Fagan travelled
with their team to Mid Sutton and were delighted
with their players who won 2-1, with goals from John
Carrie, one from the penalty spot. This was
a big step in their pursuit of runners-up spot in the
league. 2-1
NDSL 12Prem:
NDSL 12B (CON): A Gary McCabe hat-trick gave
Celtic a convincing win over Skerries Town in
Porterstown. 3-0
NDSL 12C (JOL): A Lee Penrose goal was enough to
give Celtic the points in a close encounter v
Portmarnock in Porterstown. This puts more
daylight between John and
Paul's team (we have at least 2 of the Fab 4) and
Portmarnock, and maintains their challenge for promotion. 1-0. DDSL 12D (PAllen):

NDSL 13Prem: Despite dominating for long
spells, Celtic rued their missed chances, and had to
settle for a share of the points in a 1-1 draw away to
Raheny Utd. Ian Watkins was Celtic's marksman.
1-1 NDSL 13C (JnHayes): Celtic were required to
dig deep to ensure they came away with the 3 points at
home to Raheny Utd. Conor Mullen had given them
them a 2-1 lead at half time with a brace. But the
second half saw them put to the pin of their collars to
keep Raheny out. Man of the match was Hussan Ijaz
who put in a battling display covering every blade of
grass on the park. Their title challenge remains on
course. 2-1

NDSL 14Premier: Celtic went down 3-2 in
a 5 goal thriller in Porterstown. Having gone
behind 0-3, Celtic fought back and almost salvaged the
game from the most unlikely of situations that resembled
Turkey 2005, except there was no fairy tale ending like
Liverpool winning on penalties to take ownership of the
European Cup having won it 5 times. 2-3. DDSL 14Major:
Stephen Treadwell and Sean Hoare were on the scoresheet
for Celtic as they shared the points away to St Patricks
Athletic. 2-2 NDSL 14C:
A Luke Lynch strike earned Celtic a share of the points
at home to Clontarf in Porterstown. 1-1. NDSL 14D:
Eoin O'Gorman and Zaid Kurchied were on the mark
for Celtic as they recovered from going behind in the
first minute at home to Balscadden. 1-1
NDSL 14Girls: Celtic girls went out of the Umbro
Cup by the odd goal in 3. Orlaith Higgins was
Celtic's marksman. 1-2
