Castleknock

14/15 March  2009

AUL Div2A Sat : Goals from David Moynihan, his first of the season, and Philip Germaine, gave Celtic a deserved share of the points v Swallows FC.  2-2

LSL Maj1D Sat :

AUL Div1 Sun :  A brace for John Dunne, and goals from Kevin Keane, Weah t'Uway, and Andy Weldon, gave Celtic a comfortable 3 points away to St Malachys, to help celebrate St Patrick's Day in style.  5-0

AUL Div3 Sun : Celtic considered themselves extremely unlucky not to get more from this game v Willows FC in Porterstown.  An early defensive error let the visitors in for their first in only the second minute.  Celtic then missed a 7th minute penalty.  But they took charge of the game then, although it remained 0-1 up to the break.  Eoin O'Shea equalised 15 mins into the second half. Then some crazy decision-making by the young ref gave the game to Willows. They scored on 67 mins from what was a blatant offside.  1-2

NDSL 7A (Peter Killian)

DDSL 8A (P Danaher) : Castleknock battled to a win away to Killester in a close match.  This was a poor performance from the team who can play a lot better than this but credit must be given to the lads for digging out a victory.  Castleknock were 1-0 down at the break but upped the tempo in the second half and created a few chances.  Gavin Harney's double strike was enough to get the points.  Matthew Moran and Mark Cole were the stand out players on the day.

NDSL 8B (C Jones) :

NDSL 8C (P Mason) :

NDSL 9A (T Rush) : Luke Kelly,  Mark Leahy and Ruairi Patten were on the mark for Celtic at home to Clontarf FC.  Ruairi's goal was a peach, as his Dad roared on instructions, the lad followed his own instinct and rifled into the far top corner of the net from 15 yards.  3-1

NDSL 9B (A Schmidt) :

DDSL 9C (T Molloy) : Single goal sank Celtic at home to Portmarnock.  0-1

NDSL 9D (M Steevens) :

NDSL 9E (S Porter) :

NDSL 10A (E Mullen) : Celtic shared the points at home to Howth Celtic.  Daniel Kiely scored the home side's goal, in a very solid performance by the team.  1-1

NDSL 10B (L Doyle) :

NDSL 10C (G Grouse) :

NDSL 10D (M Farrell) : Despite some good defending by Celtic, Maynooth edged this encounter  in Co Kildare  by a 2 goal margin.  0-2

NDSL 11Prem (S Dooley) : Goals from Kevin Miller and from man of the match John Kindlon earned Celtic a place in the 3rd round of the Charlie Haughey Cup.  2-1

DDSL 11B (A Kelly) :

NDSL 11C (S McLoughlin) :

NDSL 11E (R Barron) :

NDSL 12Prem (F Murphy) :

NDSL 12B (CON/MT) :

NDSL 12C (JOL) : Celtic suffered a severe blow to their title hopes against Baldoyle Utd in a sunny but breezy Rob's Wall today.  Having opted to play with the slight breeze Celtic were in serious trouble at half time, having only one goal to show for a half that they totally dominated. Their fears for the second half were well founded, as they found themselves up against a much more focused and determined Baldoyle in the 2nd half who completely dominated.  Celtic felt relieved that they came away with just a 2 goal deficit. 1-3

DDSL 12D (PAllen) :

NDSL 12Girls (BOD) :

DDSL 13Prem (D Hevey) :  Celtic shared the points with Malahide Utd in this tough battle away at the seaside.  0-0

NDSL 13Prem (B Kennedy) :  Celtic were far too strong for Clontarf FC in this league encounter away in St Pauls.  Aran Mooney got a hat-trick and Ian Watkins got one, in what proved to be a comfortable margin.

NDSL 13C (JnHayes):

NDSL 13D (JnByrne): Castleknock hosted third placed Clonee Utd in Porterstown today.  It was a closely contested game. The points were shared which was a little unfortunate as Castleknock missed a penalty in the first half. Scorer for Celtic was Craig Smyth on 45 minutes following a free kick by Ntinga Mtiko.  Clonee equalised soon after when the bounce from a speculative long high ball caught the defence out and allowed Clonee in for a well-taken half chance.

Squad:  Amir Kasasopic,  Adam Prior, Ntinga Mtiko, Paul Burke, Jackie Chan, Jack Ryan, Stefan Mihalache, Craig Smyth, Aaron Connolly,  Thomas Byrne, Declan King, Ian Coughlan, Francy Nkodia, Hugh Molloy, Adam McCabe, Ciarán Byrne

NDSL 13E (AlFahy):

NDSL 14Premier (P Slevin):  Celtic powered back to form with a 4-1 home win over Skerries Town in the O'Neill Cup 3rd round.  4-1

DDSL 14Major (D Bradshaw) :  League leaders St Malachys just edge this league fixture by the narrowest of margins.  0-1.  St Patrick's Day: Celtic earned a share of the points at home to Ratoath Harps. 1-1

NDSL 14C (K Leech) :

NDSL 14Girls (PH) : Celtic made it 5 our of 5 when they hammered Willows FC 9-0 away from home.  Girl of the match was Hannah O'Riordan, who hit a hat-trick.  She was joined in the hat-trick enclosure by Ashling Hoey, who also hit 3. Katie Byrne, Megan and Edwina Naughton, and Joy Guinane completed the scoring.  We hope Dad Sean Naughton is fully back to fitness.

NDSL 14D (W O Gorman) : Zaid Kurchied's brace  of goals is not enough for Celtic away to Woodlawn.  2-3

NDSL 15Prem (D Hanlon) :

NDSL 15B (S ODonnchu) :

NDSL 15C (B Smyth) :

DDSL 16A1 (A Waters) : Wayside Celtic proved too strong for the home side in a very competitive fixture.  Wayside showed great commitment and why they are league leaders, right from the back to the front runners.  Having said that, Castleknock were always in contention, and did have some chances.  0-1   St Patrick's Day: A single goal from Brian Moriarty's corner was enough to give Celtic the points in this league encounter against Finglas Celtic.  1-0

NDSL 16C (E McGrath) :

NDSL 17A (G Hunt) :

NDSL 17B (T Hanlon) :
