11/12 October 2008
AUL Div2A Sat : Fantastic result for Peter
Finn's troops as they take another scalp in the pursuit
of FAI Junior Cup glory in their first year in the
competition. Kevin Behan and the prolific James Haughton
had ensured Celtic were level in the dying minutes.
Then an Alan Darcy strike as the ref contemplated extra
time sent Celtic into dreamland and a place in the 3rd
round of the most prestigious junior competition in the
country. 3-2
LSL Maj1D Sat :
AUL Div1 Sun : Shock exit for Celtic
from the FAI Junior Cup. Obviously this challenge came
too early for Eddie O'Callaghan's team which has played
only a couple of games this season. They went down to a
5-1 away defeat at the hands of Mid Sutton in Malahide
Castle. 1-5.
AUL Div3 Sun : Walk-over for Celtic in the 1st
round of the Leinster Junior Shield when Vintage
Docklands failed to show. W/over Celtic.

NDSL 11Prem (S Dooley) : Celtic kept
their league campaign on track with a 1-0 home win over
Malahide Utd in Porterstown. They had to withstand
much second half pressure as United fought had for the
equaliser, but Celtic stood firm, for whom Stuart Rocca
took off many important saves as the Malahide pressed in
the final quarter. 1-0.

NDSL 11C (S McLoughlin) :
NDSL 11E (R Barron) : The turning point came
in the first half with the game level. Celtic were level
at 1-1 thanks to Sean Gannon's goal, but the
goalscorer unfortunately broke his arm and had to be
taken to Temple Street Hospital. He is in our thoughts
as he recovers. Celtic were too shocked to compete for
the points as they were in shock with their team-mate's
distress. Despite David Kelly's goal for Celtic, they
went down 2-4 to Dunshaughlin Youths. 2-4

NDSL 12Prem (F Murphy) :
NDSL 12B (CON/MT) :
NDSL 12C (JOL) : John O'Leary's side cruised to

Kearney Moore's goal. Kevins put the game beyond doubt
in the second half with their third. 1-3
NDSL 13Prem (B Kennedy) : A classic
battle in Porterstown. Celtic went into a 1-0 lead
through Luke Bennet in the first half, only to be pegged
back by a strong Raheny Utd. 1-1 half time.
Celtic just edged the second half when they scored late
on when Dan Ring seized on a cross into the box,
finishing superbly at the far post. 2-1.

NDSL 13C (JnHayes):
A
fair result in a very evenly contested match.
Castleknock scored first through a fine strike by Eoghan
O'Donnchu. Ashbourne equalised soon after. Half Time :
1:1.
Second half continued as first, very
evenly contested with plenty of opportunities at both
ends. Ashbourne grabbed a second, but this inspired the
Castleknock boys to put in a fierce effort and they
scored a fine equaliser after some great pressure.
Scorer was James Carolan, who has been in a rich vein of
scoring the past few weeks. Both sides had chances in
the closing stages, but the draw was the fair result on
a sunny Sunday morning in Porterstown. NDSL 13D
(JnByrne): Celtic lose out to Clontarf away. 0-4
 NDSL 13E
(AlFahy): Swords Manor withstood fierce Celtic pressure
to hold out the hosts. Albert and Maurice will be
scratching their heads as to how they did not get a
share of the points, losing by a single second half
goal. 0-1
and more
