September 2008
AUL Div2A Sat : Another farce leads to no game
for Peter Finn's team, as opposition end up with no
pitch.
LSL Maj1D Sat : Close win for Vernon
McAllorum's side. Derek O'Brien had leveled things on 20
mins, while Al O'Grady and John Byrne made sure of the
points at home to Valeview. 3-2
AUL Div1 Sun : Eddie O'Callaghan's team
was smelling of roses after this 2-0 away win over Booth
Road Celtic in the Nivea Cup. Weah t'Uway gave
Celtic a 1-0 lead at half time. Shane Murphy got
his annual goal to ensure safe passage into the next
round. Celtic were glad to make it through, especially
as they have not yet got their game up to their usual
high standards. 2-0
AUL Div3 Sun (T Duffy/P Hoey) : Celtic came
from 1-0 down with goals from Ray Kelly and a penalty
from Chris Hoey to earn the points in this league
encounter against Sporting Athletic in Porterstown.
2-1

NDSL 7A (Peter Killian) :
NDSL 7B :
DDSL 8A (P Danaher) :
Sorry no report received.
NDSL 8B (C Jones) :
NDSL 8C (G Penrose) :
NDSL 9A (T Rush) : Share of the points for
Celtic v Woodlawn. 2-2
NDSL 9B (A Schmidt) : Excellent win for Celtic
away to Ballymun Utd. 1-0.
DDSL 9C (T Molloy) : Celtic went down
3-0 to a very good WFTA side in Finglas this morning in
a close game that the scoreline didn't reflect. Celtic
just couldn't get the little bit of luck that they
needed. It was one - nil for a long period, and with
Celtic chasing the equaliser they were caught with two
sucker-punches. They just need a bit of luck to get
their season kick-started.
NDSL 9D (M Steevens): Battling performance is
not enough for brave squad.

NDSL 9E (S Porter) :
NDSL 10A (E Mullen) : Slenderest of defeats
for Celtic as Matthew Mullen's goal is not enough.
Manager Enda Mullen was very pleased with the effort
shown by his players. 1-2.
NDSL 10B (L Doyle) : Close encounter.
Share of the points for Liam Doyle. 0-0.
NDSL 10C (G Grouse) :
NDSL 10D (M Farrell) :
NDSL 11Prem (S Dooley) : Maynooth Town, last
year's champions, were brought back to earth with a bang
as they went down 3-2 at home to Celtic. The visitors
went behind twice, but struck back on both occasions,
with goals from Demi Dare on the double and one from
Kevin Miller. This was a great response by the
team after their setback last week. 3-2
DDSL 11B (A Kelly) : 3-1 defeat for Celtic at
home to Trinity, with Jordan Barnes getting Celtic's
only goal. 1-3.
NDSL 11C (S McLoughlin) : Goals from Kevin
Dalton, John Lennon Maher, and Shane Tobin, earn the
points for Celtic at home to 10-man St Maelruans. 3-0

NDSL 11E (R Barron) :
NDSL 12Prem (F Murphy) :
Celtic ended all-square in this battle of the big guns.
Celtic had to scrap for everything, and will feel
satisfied that they eked out a result. There was a
lot of concern about their gifted winger Luke Martin
when he had to be taken off to hospital with a back
injury. But he is fine now Thank God, and is expected to
be back soon to help his team challenge for the league
title.
 NDSL 12B (CON/MT) : Celtic maintain their
great start. Gary McCabe hit a hat trick, while Matthew
Doyle (2), and Conor O'Ceallaigh, got the other goals.
6-1
NDSL 12C (JOL) : Free-scoring Celtic overwhelmed
Drumcondra in this league cup encounter in Porterstown.
The game was on a knife-edge for long spells, as the ref
made extraordinary decisions throughout. But fair play
to both teams and lines that they contained themselves,
which of course is the only thing to do. An Aiden
Doherty hat-trick was the main difference in the end. He
was joined on the scoresheet by Justin Lownes, Shane
Coffey, Kyle Patten and Evan O'Connor, which ensured
Celtic had a comfortable margin in the end. But it
was a lot closere than the scoreline suggest. 7-4
 DDSL 12D
(PAllen) :
NDSL 12Girls
(BOD) :
DDSL 13Prem
(D Hevey) : Narrowest of defeats for Celtic at home to
Home Farm. 2 goals from Teezey were not enough to get a
result in Porterstown. 2 late chances went a-beggin
which would have made this a very different result. 2-3.
 NDSL 13Prem (B Kennedy) :
Woodlawn were outclassed by Brian Kennedy's team. Keelan
McAnerin, Aran Mooney, Luke Bennett, Ian Watkins and
David Costelloe, were the Celtic marksmen in this
comprehensive victory. 5-1 NDSL 13C (JnHayes):
Walk over for Celtic as Mullingar Athletic fail to
travel. NDSL 13D
(JnByrne): Narrow 3-2 defeat for Celtic away to Maynooth
Town. 2-3
 NDSL 13E
(AlFahy): Tremendous win for Celtic against Ratoath
Harps in the league cup. 3-2
 NDSL 14Premier (P Slevin): Another
win for Celtic, this time 3-2 away to Swords Celtic.
 DDSL
14Major (D Bradshaw) : Away to Carriglea,
Celtic cruised into 2nd round of the prestigious SFAI
Goodson Cup. Stephen Treadwell and Adam Noonan continued
with their good form with a brace each, while Sean Hoare
and John McGivern (brother of Brian, whose 9A side
drew), completed the scoring. 6-2 NDSL 14C
(K Leech) :
Superb 2-1 win for Celtic away to Malahide Utd after they were promoted from
the C-division. 2-1 NDSL 14D (W O Gorman) :
Baldoyle take the points in 4-2 win over Celtic at the
seaside. Cormac Kelly and Zaid Kurchied's goals were not
enough to get Celtic a result. 2-4
NDSL 15Prem (D Hanlon) : Celtic move into second
place with a very strong performance away to St
Columbans. Trailing 1-0, they hit back late with Cian
O'Hara and Joey Crampton strikes, which brings their
tally to 7 points from a possible 9. 2-1. NDSL 15B (S
ODonnchu) : NDSL 15C
(B Smyth) : An OG, and goals from Mark McIlkenny,
Mark O'Brien and Graham Dunne sealed a 4-0 away win over
Lusk Utd. 4-0 DDSL
16A1
(A Waters) : 2-0 down and they looked out for the count
against Sheriff. But Celtic bounced back in this SFAI
Cup game in Fairview Park to draw level with goals
from Vadym and Callum Zambra. Extra time however saw
Sheriff prevail, scoring the winner late on. 2-3. NDSL 16C (E McGrath) : Celtic
were comfortable 5-2 winners over Santos in Porterstown,
with Paul McGrath and Paul Conway each hitting a brace
for the second week on the spin. They were joined by
Abdul Said on the scoresheet which saw the teams level
at half time 2-2. 5-2 NDSL 17A
(G Hunt) : 4-0 home win for Gerry Hunt's new squad over
Darndale. Gerry Troy opened the scoring with a screamer
from 30 yards. Philly Ryan rowed in with a double,
to make it 3-0. Then Johnny Cooper got back to striking
form to make it 4-0. This was a smashing result,
and fully avenged last week's defeat to the same
opposition. 4-0 DDSL 18Prem (M Fitz) :
