Baldoyle Utd  1    Castleknock Celtic  2

After last Thursdays shock defeat in injury time to Ashbourne, CCFC were looking to retain their place at the top of the NDSL Premier League against Baldoyle at Malahide Castle.

Against all the odds, losing Cian Conway and Colm Neville to GAA injuries in the St. Thomas Feile Semi Final win on Saturday, they set about their task.

Playing 4-4-2 they tore into Baldoyle with Stark crossing for lone striker Slevin to head over.  The same pair repeated the same move five minutes later to the same result.  S.A.S were not firing.

Meanwhile, the discovery of the season Mo Mahdy was BOSSING the middle, and he set up Dermot Murray who was on fire on the left wing. Murray beat two men and volleyed from fifteen yards.  1-0 to Celtic.

Celtic kept coming with similar chances going to Stark and Slevin, both hitmen missing the target.  Gareth Elliot playing up front slipped the ball past the Baldoyle giant centre half to be scythed down in the box but the Referee waved  play on – HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Baldoyle cleared quickly, broke down the wing with Paul Keogh. He tripped on the edge of the box only to see the Referee award a penalty 1-1 .  It was to be the day of penalties.  1-1 at half time.

The first 20 minutes of the second half was all Celtic with Slevin and Stark both hitting the bar, and Murray, Elliot, Mahady, and Hanney all going close.  Celtic broke down the left with Murray who slipped his marker, played a great ball to Slevin who was pulled down in the box - PENALTY!! BUT NO AGAIN, the Referee waved play on!!  All hell broke loose with Manager Slevin being sent off!!

Kevin Murphy (GK), Celtic's only sub went close before Slevin Junior was pulled down for a second time.  As they say, third time lucky, the Referee awarded the penalty.  2 – 1 Celtic.
