Kilbarrack Utd 1 Castleknock Celtic 3
Celtic's injury-ridden squad started the game with a
bang, with classy Eoin O'Brien slotting Slevin through
to square the ball for Stark who thundered in number 1
after just 1 min. Surely an avalanche was on the way
here!
Further couldn’t have been from the truth as Celtics 5
man midfield went to sleep and sat back while Kilbarrack,
bottom of the league, ran the middle of the park until a
dreadful error in the middle of the park allowed the
home side in for an uncontested goal. 1-1 and
Kilbarrack looking the better team.
Manager Slevin brought on Greg O'Brien, Dylan Gourlay
and Zak Harold to try and regain dominance in the middle
of the park. 1-1 at half-time.
The second half was a really a scrappy affair, though
even, until Slevin slotted Eoin O'Brien in for the
second. Manager Slevin moved Byrne from sweeper to the
front line as Stark was in danger of being sent off for
petulance. In the space of 5 mins, Byrne had hit
the bar twice and clocked up Celtic's third.
As the old adage goes, a win is a win, and this one
undeserved as it was by the performance may prove very
beneficial at the end of the season when the gongs are
given out. |
