AUL Div3 Sat :

LSL Div1D Sat : Significant win for Celtic as they defeated the league leaders, Tymon Celtic, 2-1 away in the league which takes them within 1 point of the top spot with 2 games in hand. Philip Dillon got the first from a Ciaran Carr cross.  Ciaran then turned finisher when he shot home from a Deco Cunningham cross. 2-1

AUL Div1 Sun :  Cruel end to a difficult week for Celtic's premier AUL team.  They had suffered their first league defeat in 2 years last week, and they were hoping to bounce back. But John Dunne's equalising goal in the first half was not enough to prevent another reverse, this time in the Nivea Cup.  The man in black did  not help ruling against a certain penalty and then denying a goal when the fouled player finished off the move with the ball in the back of the net. When you are down, some don't mind giving you a helping hand down further! This is a young side who will certainly be back to winning ways quickly. 1-2.

NDSL 7s:

NDSL 8As: Luke Finnegan was on target for Celtic against Woodlawn in this 3-2 win.  But star of the show was Ruairi Patton who hit the net on the double.  3-2.

NDSL 8B:

DDSL 8E1s: Narrowest of defeats 4-3 for Martin Steevens' team at home to Swords Celtic (D), which was a great performance against a team from a couple of leagues higher. click

NDSL 9As: Fine 3-1 win for Celtic at home to Clonee Utd.

NDSL 9C

NDSL 10A:  Celtic beat the visiting Dunshaughlin Youths at home in Porterstown.  Eoghan Sterritt, and 2 from Kevin Miller, gave Celtic the 3 points.  3-1.  click

NDSL 10C: Celtic were comfortable winners away to Ratoath Harps as they put five past the home team to put them safely into the second round of the NDSL Cup. Nedim Hrvacic was Celtic's 4 goal hero, while Cuhdi Emara completed the scoring for  Celtic.  Check out the team's blog at http://briangavin.blogspot.com

NDSL 10C1:

NDSL 10E:

NDSL 11Prem: Gavin O'Reilly from the penalty spot and a cracking finish from Jamie Traynor were the strikers who hit the jackpot this week, giving Celtic a 2-0 win away to Rivervalley Rangers.  Eric Kelly was man of the match.

NDSL 11C: Difficult game for Celtic away to Malahide, with the man in black proving to be less than helpful!  In the end the visitors managed to overcome the North Dublin opposition 2-1 after extra time to progress to the last 8 in the Charles Haughey Cup. Celtic were always on top of a game Malahide team, but the decisions being made by the man in the middle were not going to help.  Celtic had one goal disallowed in first half that even the opposition said was fair, along with many other bizarre decisions.  1-1 at at the end of regulation time thanks to a Matthew Doyle goal. He added to his tally in the first half of extra time.  Andrew Treadwell added the second to seal victory and ensure safe passage into the last 8.  2-1.

DDSL 11D: Joey Mongey, Davydas Baranavkas, David Allen and Ross, all found the net in a convincing home win in Porterstown against Rosemount Mulvey. The team showed great commitment and this maintains their great improvement in recent times.  click for team pic.

NDSL 11E:

DDSL 12Major: SFAI was a happy stomping ground for this Celtic team last season, and they have again progressed to the 4th round of this prestigious cup, with a 4-2 win away to Palmerstown Utd.  Ryan Moore-Kearney was his usual lethal self, again claiming the match ball for his hat-trick.  Gareth Ruane was Celtic's other scorer.

NDSL 12Prem:

NDSL 12B: Celtic played some wonderful football against Marino and their industry was rewarded with a smashing 3-2 victory in Porterstown. The amazing thing was that Marino had thumbed the Celts 6-1 earlier in the season. But this is a much improved side, and the emphasis on coaching and team play is obvious. Celtic led 1-0 through Conor Mullen, who was a contender for man of the match.  Eoin O'Donnchu had restored Celtic's lead after Marino had drawn level.  Marino are a dogged team and they came back to level terms.  Then in the final quarter, another contender for man of the match, Keelan McAnerin, as he had done all morning, tormented the Marino defence. He found himself on the right side of the penalty box, controlled the ball, and with the dexterity of Padraic Harrington, he chipped the ball into the far corner of the net to give the excellent Marino keeper no chance.  It looked as if it had used a sand-wedge to execute the finish. 3-2. There was great applause at the end of the game, which Celtic deserved to win.  It sounds like the result was down to the players mentioned above, but in truth, it was a fabulous all-round team performance. 3-2.  click for gallery

NDSL 13Prem:  Celtic grind out 3-1 away victory against Kilbarrack.  click

DDSL 13A :  Late equaliser denies the 13As victory in their home league encounter with Mount Merrion. Stephen Kenna had given Celtic the lead that looked like it was enough for victory until the late setback. They are well positioned for an assault on promotion to the Major division. click for action.

NDSL 15A:

DDSL 15B: There was a great spread of goalscorers for Celtic in this game.  Jamie Turner, Thomas Shields, Keith McDarby and Niall Coughlan, all contributed to give Celtic a 4-3 away win v Cambridge Boys in Ringsend Park.

DDSL 15B1:  Cracker of a game in Porterstown as Celtic finally overcame Broadford Rovers 4-3.  Vadym Pogorilgy had put Celtic in front, and it was to and fro thereafter, as Broadford wiped out the home side's lead each time.  Jerry Troy had restored Celtic's lead to 2-1.  Broadford's Tunisian substitute was true to his word when he delivered on his promise to his manager that he would deliver the goods if he gave him the chance. He had only entered the fray when he shot home in fine style to equalise at 2-2.  Then we had the contender for goal of the season. Admola Ridwan battled gamely on the right hand side to gain and retain possession, and then passed to Sean Hanlon who delivered the killer ball into the 6 yard box where David Cummins met it on the volley, a real beauty. The pundits were drooling with such a clinical finish. 3-2. Broadford however drew level yet again.  But the final scene saw Jerry Troy get his second and earn Celtic the 3 points. A classic cliffhanger of a game that the spectators were very pleased with, believing they had got full value for the admission price. 4-3.  click for gallery

DDSL 16A: Jody Mooney masterminded a smashing home victory for Celtic in this Hegarty Cup 3rd round against St Josephs Boys, in Porterstown.  With the commitment shown in this game, this team must fancy themselves for a good run. They have re-built their team with the return of players after their travels. The team showed a dedication to the cause that left them wondering how they had suffered defeat the previous week. Every player was up for it. Gary Sweeney was on his game in the Celtic goal, and with Barry Doyle at the heart of the defence, they had a solid rock to build on. Full backs Johnny Cooper, relishing the new role, and Michael Kennelly put in reliable performances that let little by them.  Gareth Deasy was creative in the middle.  This  backbone was the launching pad for the scores that came. Davy Cannacott had tested the Joeys keeper to the limit early on, having outpaced the visiting defence.  He was again on hand sonon after to set up Cillian Quinn, who struck home brilliantly, though the keeper got a fingertip to it.  Tommy Mooney stepped up to the plate to convert the penalty to put Celtic 2-0 ahead, and apparently out of sight.  click for penno conversion.  This was after Davy Cannocott was tripped as he threatened to score.  But Joeys turned the game around midway through the second half to leave the sides 2-2 with 10 minutes remaining. Joeys seemed to have the momentum and there were worried faces on the home touchline as the visitors looked the more likely.  But Paul Hunt had not read the Joeys script, and he raced through the Magpies defence and beat the keeper at the near post.  What a dream goal to produce a dream result and a place in the 4th round draw.
