Castleknock

10/11 November 2007

AUL Div3 Sat : Superb Roe Cup win for Peter Finn's charges. They defeated Corduff Utd 3-1 away to progress into the 2nd round. The new Toshack & Keegan are alive and well and cracking in the goals. Who are we talking about? Yes, its Cooney and Haughton, who again were on the mark for Celtic.  They were joined this week on the scoresheet by Odie Fanning.

LSL Div1D Sat : Walkover for Celtic at  home to Greenhills.

AUL Div1 Sun :  Alas, one of the longest runs in the club's history ended today when Eddie O'Callaghan's league-invincibles finally succumbed, going down 2-0 at home to a strong Greenpark side, who took advantage of an injury-hit and out-of-sorts Celtic to end their 25 month unbeaten league run.

AUL Div3 Sun :  Tim Duffy is enjoying a successful run with his team in recent times. They had been unlucky with some results prior to this.  Today they took an early 2 goal advantage with strikes from Mark McLoughlin and Stuey Bannon. But Celtic turned off for the last quarter hour of the first half when Crumlin Celtic reduced the deficit. 2-1 at half-time.  Celtic re-established control on the resumption and their back-4 of Fran Browne, Alex Sherwood, Vinny Corry and Neil Sexton,  in commanding form.  Mark and Stuey both completed their hat-tricks, to earn Castleknock the points. The pick of the goals was Stuey Bannon taking possession on the edge of the box, racing forward to the right of the 6 yard box and planting the ball beautifully in the far corner, out of the reach of the keeper. Mark's second was also notable as he flicked his header down, which the keeper could not hold.  6-2.

NDSL 7s:

Donal Timoney was again the hero with another hat-trick.  He was aided and abetted by James Henry who came out of goal to hit a double.  Stephen O'Donoghue and Ben Galvin were Celtic's other marksmen as they ran out comfortable 7-1 winners away to Malahide. 7-1.

NDSL 11E:

DDSL 12Major: Celtic had to  travel to Celbridge for this encounter against title rivals Ballyoulster who had gone down battling at Porterstown earlier in the season in a dour contest.  Ryan Kearney Moore and Gareth Ruane were Celtic's scorers.  But Celtic needed to be at their defensive best, where captain Patrick Rocca and keeper Steve Morris ensured that there was no breach of the Hoops rearguard. Celtic are top of the table at the half way stage on 25 points, after 8 wins and a draw from 11 games.

NDSL 12Prem:

NDSL 12B: This was a strange game. Celtic seemed to be well in contention, but at the end, they went down 5-3. They were back to 4-3 at one stage and looked like they could get at least a share of the points.  Darren McAnerin had rifled home into the roof of the net from the penalty spot. But an amazing run by a very mature Darndale player ended up with the visitor striking home a beauty was that would have graced a more hallowed turf. Prodigious is an apt description, if not precocious. 3-5.

NDSL 12C:
