27/28 October 2007

AUL Div3 Sat : Philip Cooney coolly chipped the keeper from 30 yards to put the Celts in fornt against the visiting Tolka Valley.  James Haughton raced along the wing, cut in and beat the keeper to give Celtic a 2-0 advantage at half-time.  The Valley were awarded a penalty 8 mins from time, but in truth Celtic were never really threatened.  2-1

LSL Div1D Sat :

AUL Div1 Sun :  A depleted Celtic side earned a share of the points in a 2-2 draw away to Mooretown in the AUL complex.  Norman Ross and Steve O'Callaghan were on the mark for Celtic, which maintains their 2 year unbeaten run in the league.

DDSL 8E: Superb win for Tony Molloy's charges. They travelled to Coolock and defeated St John Vianney Boys 3-2.  Two first half goals from Mike Leahy put Celtic 2-1 up at half time. Vianney equalised, and a great individual goal from Mike Leahy beating 4 players won the game for Celtic and sealed his hat-trick. No marks for guessing that Mark got the man of the match award.

NDSL 11Prem: Celtic go down 3-2 at home to Shelbourne in the league.

NDSL 11C: This was an early start for Conor and Martin, but they still had their troops ready for the fray at 9.50am.  They played in their changed strip, and it seemed to bring them luck as they ran out winners by a 3 goal margin. Matthew Doyle and Andrew Treadwell hit a brace each, and Faruk Ibrahimi completed  the scoring.  click for pic

DDSL 11D:

NDSL 11E:

DDSL 12Major: Ryan Kearney Moore could have hit a hat-trick and more the previous week, bu this week, he helped himself to a brace to set Celtic up for a convincing away win v Bohs.  Gareth Ruane, Ryan Smith and Klevis Kurpreka got one each.  Dave Fogarty's team's championship challenge maintains its momentum. They are top of the table on 22 points from 10 games played. 5-1.

NDSL 12Prem: Raheny overcame  Celtic's premier team 2-0 in this game away in St Annes Park. 0-2.

NDSL 12B: Eoin O'Donnchu's goal was not enough to save his team from a 1-3 defeat away to Skerries in the league.

NDSL 12D: This was  a smashing win for Celtic over Swords Rovers. Dave Byrne stood in for manager John Byrne.  They went behind early on and the omens were not good at that stage. They then missed a penalty when Paul Garvey hit the post with his well-struck effort.  But they dusted themselves down and recovered in fine style through Tom Byrne's goal.  Darragh McCaffrey was the hero of the hour however with his hat trick. Graham Chan hit the fifth, while Niall O'Callaghan rounded off the scoring to make it 6-1. Jack  Jennings was his reliable self in goal, taking off some very brave saves.  Special mention is also due to Orlaith Higgins who was a rock at right full up to the time she took over goalkeeping duties from Jack Jennings. click and again for  gallery

NDSL 13Prem: Celtic were robbed of  a result in this top of the table clash between these arch rivals.  Artur Stark was through on goal, the keeper dived at his feet 3 yards outside the penalty box, dives back inside the box, and the ref waved play on.  A melee ensues in the box,  Clontarf break away and score.  All were agreed that the ref had lost it, but such are the fortunes of football today. On such lousy decisions are games decided. 2-3.  Full report click.

DDSL 13A :

NDSL 13A : The Result of this home game against Skerries was never in doubt, and John Roe's troopers should have bagged about 6 goals.  There were tremendous performances from Michael Kiely, Conor Murphy, Wale and Sean Ryan in midfield. They were in complete control for all of the match. Up front they were led by John Roe who put in a great display, while in defence Dara McCarthy was excellent. 1-0.

NDSL 13C: Luke Lynch earned Celtic a draw in their game away to Clontarf. 1-1.

NDSL 13D: Willie O'Gorman's team maintained their great run when his 10 men (bank holiday weekend!!) hammered Swords Rovers 8-1. Celtic led 2-1 at half time, and were having to sustain a lot of pressure.  They opened up the  throttle in the second half and ran out comfortable 8-1 winners.  Wes Dillon had scored his first goal of the season, while Atif Said hit five, which was a remarkable  feat for any striker.

NDSL 14Premier:  Celtic took on high-flying Balbriggan in Porterstown.  Niall Luckie  was again on the mark for Celtic, and with Joey Crampton gave the home side a 2-1 lead at half time.  Joey Crampton hit his second after the break, and despite some late pressure, Celtic held on to a deserved 3-2 win.

NDSL 14B: Eamonn O'Donoghue and Conor Hanley see Celtic through to victory away to Malahide in their league game.

NDSL 14C:

NDSL 15A:

DDSL 15B: A hat-trick from Patrick Waters, a brace from Gerard Buckley and one from Keith McDarby, and an own goal, sealed a 7-4 home victory for Celtic.  7-4.

DDSL 15B1:

NDSL 15B

DDSL 16A: Barry Doyle's strike, following his return from injury, helped Celtic to 3-3 draw away to Templeogue Utd.  Cousin Gary Doyle, and recently-signed Davy Canacott got the other 2 goals. 3-3.

DDSL 16A1:

DDSL 18Prem:  This was a marvellous win by Peter Hoey's team at home to Ballybrack.  They put down a marker of their intent early on when Paul Duffy seized on a cross by Ricky Moffett to the near post and shot home to make it 1-0.  Paul was on the mark again on 54 mins to give the home side a comfortable margin.  It was Ricky Moffett again who put the game beyond doubt when he made it 3-0, flicking home from a corner.  The game was remarkable for the hat-trick that wasn't.  Stephen Boyle hit the back of the net 3 times, only to be over-ruled by the ref, who had an excellent game. Man of the match was Eoghan Furlong.  click for pic
