NDSL 7s: Danaher's boys are the quiet men of association football !  click

NDSL 8As: Tony Rush reported a superb win for his team when they travelled to the North County Dublin village of Balbriggan and came away with the 3 points against Glebe North.  Ruairi Patton and Liam Kelly were Celtic's successful hitmen which maintains their very impressive start to the season.

DDSL 8E1s: Tony Molloy's side went down 2-1 to the visiting St John Vianney

NDSL 9As: Some action from the encounter with Mid-Sutton in Porterstown. click

NDSL 11Prem: Celtic prove far too strong for the visiting Parkvilla from Navan, cracking in 6 without reply. Donal Timoney, Nathan McAloon, Conor O'Ceallaigh, Brian Allen, Gavin O'Reilly and James Henry all hit the target, to enable them clock up a comfortable home victory in this SFAI Cup 1st round game.  click for gallery

NDSL 11C: Celtic put 5 past a hapless Malahide who are from a higher division. 5-1. click for  pic

NDSL 11E: John O'Leary was delighted with his team's fighting qualities, coming from 2-1 down at half-time to win 3-2.  Dunshaughlin put up stern opposition, but Kyle Patton's brace and Caolan O'Donnell proved decisive with their strikes.  click for gallery

DDSL 12Major: There was heartbreak for Dave Fogarty's team in this 1st round game of the Joe O'Leary Cup against Premier side Shelbourne in Porterstown. Celtic had maintained equality until the last 8 minutes when the Reds broke the deadlock after Stephen Morris had managed to claw the ball out from under the crossbar, only to see the ball rebound off an in-rushing Shels frontman. There was general disappointment with the referee's performance, which included a penalty decision that was a 100% ball to hand and therefore not a spot kick. The resultant penalty was justly not converted.  Celtic will play worse and win, but they just did not get the rub of the green, just failing to  put away their chances, especially late on.

NDSL 12Prem: Brian Kennedy knew that his troops would have to produce a grand prix performance if they were going to come away from Ardee with a victory in this 1st round  SFAI Norton Cup.  He was not disappointed.  His players rose to the occasion big-time.  Paul Farrelly was very impressed with the billiard-table look of the pitch which he knew his team could exploit through its much-practised passing game.

Celtic went 1-0 ahead in the first half with Ian Watkins' goal.  But Ardee drew level before half-time. Dave Costelloe was unlucky when his effort was brilliantly stopped by the Ardee keeper. It was evenly contested thereafter, and even after extra time, they could not be separated.

The FAI observer at the game made Eve Farrelly player of the game with her sparkling performance.

But it was the Celtic keeper who will grab the headlines - as they say, cometh the hour, cometh the man, and it was Kevin McGovern who was the penalty shoot out hero.  He saved 2 spot kicks to give his side a 3-2 win on penalties, sending his team into seventh Heaven and a place in the second round of the most prestigious of competitions at this age group. They have joined our DDSL 12Major side in the second round draw.

NDSL 13C: Ken and Pearse, the terrible twins of football management were fulsome in their praise of the team for their performance to take all 3 points in this home game against Clontarf. Megan Naughton and David McCann were Celtic's marksmen.  click  for pic

NDSL 14Premier:  Celtic were slight favourites to progress to the 2nd round of the SFAI Cup after their victory over the same opposition, Clontarf, in the league last week.  They raced into a 2-0 lead, and the omens were good.  But Clontarf hadn't read the script, and they pulled one back by half time.  They got a decisive break 7 mins from time when their striker went in with his boot high and got the vital touch to bring the sides level.  They then went to extra time, and it was all Clontarf in the first period, with Celtic taking over in the second.  2-2 aet.  Then penalties. Clontarf were the more composed, and they progressed with a 4-1 win as Celtic missed 2 penalties.  click for  gallery
