They say a good team wins even when it plays poorly. If that is
the case, then the future is good for Castleknock Celtics' U-12b team.
Playing with a strong wind, they should have finished this match against
Glebe North in the first half.
A goal from Ryan O Donnell early on should have settled a poor start
by Castleknock. However, they continued to dominate without
scoring for the rest of this half. John Roe hit the upright with a
fine effort, but Castleknock lacked a killer punch.
In the second half, Glebe gradually came into their own. Once
again, poor finishing by Castleknock allowed Glebe to hang in. A
poor finish by the goalscorer Ryan, was followed minutes later by a
miss by Wale. To add to their frustration, Danny Walsh was taken
out of it in the box, only for the ref to decide that it was outside the
area.
Castleknock nearly paid dearly for this in the last 5 minutes, when
Dar McCarthy had to clear off the line twice.
Men of the Match were Michael Kiely, along with DaraMcCarthy and
Soslan, for their trojan work
This victory brings the U-12b team into 4th place with 4 games in
