On a beautiful sunny evening in
Porterstown, the Castleknock team made hard work of beating St
Francis.
Castleknock went 2 nil up in the first
half and it could have been 4 after hitting the cross bar and the St
Francis keeper making an unbelievable save.
Scorers were Ryan O Donnell and Wale.
In the second half a bad error by the
Castleknock defence allowed St Francis to score. Immediately
Castleknock hit back with a great strike from the edge of the box by
John Roe.
At 3-1 the game seemed over and
Castleknock pressed for more goals ,however they somehow managed to
miss several easy chances.
Again a bad error in defence allowed
St Francis to score a second goal. Castleknock broke away and John
Roe had the goal at his mercy when the referree blew full time!
The win keeps Castleknock in 2nd
place in the league with 4 games in hand on leaders Malahide.
