Arnie Brady took over from Eddie O'Callaghan for this
AUL Div2Sun game away to McKelvey Celtic in the
Elastoplast Shield 3rd Round, as Eddie took a
well-earned mid-term break. Arnie was delighted to
come away with a 3-1 away win to secure a quarter-final
slot in the New Year.
Shane Murphy scored the first with a real beauty from
35 yards. Adam O'Callaghan scored a brace, his
first on 62 mins, followed by a penalty on 71 mins.
There were some serious question marks over the ref, who
is said to have been "the biggest home town ref seen for
many a season". Adam had another goal disallowed
for offside, as did Simon Fleming.
Tim Duffy very disappointed with his AUL Div3
side's poor performance in their 2-0 defeat at home to
Mellowes FC. See Stuey Bannon get clobbered

11Premier put yet another team to the sword
with a stellar performance in goal-scoring, defeating
Clontarf 8-1 in Porterstown in the SFAI U-11
Menton-Seery Cup. Man of the match was Keelan
McAnerin, who scored a hat-trick. Other scorers were
Klevin Kurpreka, Daniel Bell, Ryan Kearney-Moore and
Gavin Boyne. While Celtic proved far too strong for
their opposition, they still put on an exhibition is
finishing, covering the full spectrum of scoring, chips,
shots, dinks, lobs, etc. They will face a much tougher
test in their final game in the SFAI on 11 December
before they go nationwide. Up to this their opposition
has been confined to the Eastern region.
