their season with a fine 2-0 away win over Tolka
Rovers in Johnstown Park in Finglas.
This was the team's first time playing at 'A'
level, but they certainly did not look out of
place, as they took the game to Tolka from the
kick-off. Having dominated the first quarter,
they got their just reward after 20 minutes when
Tega Dortie, who had just come on as sub,
rounded 2 players, and crashed a shot from 20
yards into the top right-hand corner.
The second half saw Celtic continue at the
same pace, conceding nothing at the back where
Karl Fitzgibbon and Conor O'Ceallaigh were
outstanding. Glen Murphy continued to work
tirelessly up front. It was from his tackle that
a passing movement involving 3 players ended up
at the feet of Luke Martin in the box, who
coolly placed the ball under the advancing
keeper.
This was a particularly satisfying win as the
team had five new players, including Andrew
McCarthy and Brian Allen, who had fine games on
the left and right wings.
Team: L Lynch, F Kavanagh, K Fitzgibbon, N Mc
Aloon, C O'Ceallaigh, J Henry, M Corry, S

possible 6 points in their last two games.
