• Castleknock Celtic Football Club is a small, well established club in the Dublin 15 area. The club is fully committed to making soccer an enjoyable sporting activity for kids. The club has 34 schoolboy/girl teams, 31 in the North Dublin Brenfer League and 3 playing in the Dublin District Schoolboy League. The club also has three teams in the Athletic Union League which includes players who have come up through the schoolboy ranks within the club. It is estimated that the club has in excess of 600 members.
• The club has its main playing pitches in Porterstown with another pitch in Laurel Lodge. Last year the club opened a new all weather pitch in Laurel Lodge and has plans to develop a new Clubhouse and all weather pitch at its grounds in Porterstown. These are positive developments which are welcomed at all levels within the club.
• It is against this background that the Executive Committee of Castleknock Celtic has set up a Coaching Committee. As a first step, the Coaching Committee have been asked to develop Coaching Plan which will enable the club to exploit the opportunities for player development presented by the existing training facilities and those under development.

The Committee have prepared this document which describes the planning approach, outlines the aims of the committee and proposes a plan of activity for 2006. The Executive Summary specifies the decisions and support needed from the Executive Committee in order to allow the implementation of the Coaching Plan to proceed. The plan has been agreed with the Executive Committee and has their full support.
