U12 Farry Cup 2nd Round : Castleknock Celtic (C) 5 Knocklyon Utd (B1) 1
It was an afternoon kick off in Porterstown for the 2nd round of The Farry Cup as Castleknock Celtic took on the league leaders in the league above in Knocklyon Utd.
Right from the start Celtic went at Knocklyon and dominated a very scrappy first half but couldn’t take their chances and went in 1 down at half time.
It was all Castleknock again in the 2nd half and this time they punished Utd and took their chances easily. You would have thought Castleknock were a league above Knocklyon by the way things were going. Goals from Michael Walsh, Ayoub Khennache (2) and Cian Robinson (2) destroyed a Utd team that was bewildered by the strength of the Celtic dominance. It was an excellent display of passing and movement by Celtic and Knocklyon just had no answer.
With Keelin McEntee slotting in defence in the absence of centre back Andrew Rodgers, she showed exactly why she won the person of the match award with the excellent and classy Cian Robinson. It wasn’t to be for leading scorer Winston Wang today but he did have a hand in setting up a couple for his team mates. Every player gave their all today and worked really hard and it was a joy for the manager, coach and parents to watch a very entertaining game. Well done lads and lady and now we can look forward to the quarter finals and let me tell you now we don’t fear anyone after today’s excellent display.
