22 October 2011

AUL Div 1 Sat. (Ray Bowe) :

AUL Div 2A Sat. (Jim Kelly) : On a difficult pitch after it being sanded during the week and missing 8 players,  Celtic still managed to eke out a victory against Blessington FC.  Goals from Eoin Norton and an opportunist strike from Ryan Redmond, when the visitors’ keeper went walkabouts chasing a ball to the corner flag. There was a big welcome back for Paul Ellington after a long lay-off with a fractured cheek. 2-1

NDSL 10E (Oleg Girbu) :

NDSL 10H (David Curran) :  Narrow defeat for Celtic at home to Kinnegad Juniors. After a very even first half, the teams were all square at half time.  Kinnegad came out of the blocks like a train, and were 2 goals to the good early after the resumption.  Christian Guerins bagged his second which gave us a pulsating last quarter as Celtic pressed for the equaliser.  It finished however with the visitors in front.  2-3

DDSL 11B (Rob Ryan) :  Celtic were in rampant form in the 2nd round of the SFAI Cup against their west-county rivals, Esker, away in Lucan.  Goals from Vilius who hit a hat-trick, Brian on the double, while Lorcan, Conor, Noma, Ugie, and Adam completed the rout for the visitors.  10-0

DDSL 11B1 (Peter Killian) :  Football is not the winner as Celtic lose out by single goal at home to Stella Maris. Celtic played most of the football, but had nothing to show for their efforts going down 2-3. match action

DDSL 12C1 (Ciaran Jones) :  Heartbreak for Celtic as they went down to a last gasp goal by the visitors Broadford Rovers.  When it looked like they had earned a share of the points, Celtic were hit by a goal with the last kick of the game.  0-1

NDSL 18Prem (John Roe) : John Roe Jnr seals victory for Celtic with only goal of the game at home to Hartstown/Huntstown FC.  Gritty 1-0 victory over Hartstown today. Solid performances by all, huge improvement at the back , and defiant display from midfield. Well taken goal by John.  Man of match performance by Paddy, backed up by Deane, Dylan and Wale. 1-0  read on

DDSL 18Prem 1 (Dermot Bradshaw) : A case of one that got away.  Ian McSherry, Luke Lynch, and Richie Darcy had forced extra time against Dublin Bus.  Amazingly, it was like an historic World Cup incident when the ref disallowed a headed goal because full time had sounded. The ball was today played into the box, rebounded off the defender and was heading for the net, when the ref blew for full time!  Consternation all round. Not easy to travel away sometimes. 3-4

DDSL 18Maj 1 (Jimmy Kelly) :  Goals from Killian Creaner on the double, Sean Zambra, and Yusuf Shushan, and a superb free kick from Ryan Redmond, his second goal in as many weeks, ensured victory for Celtic away to Tyrellstown in a challenge game. 5-1

DDSL 19PremB (Donal Hanlon) : Celtic on fire as hit 9 past Leicester.  9-1.  read on
