9/10/11: U-12Cs share the points v Peamount: 3-3

Peamount Utd 3 Castleknock Celtic 3

After 2 convincing wins in a row Castleknock headed to Newcastle to take on a Peamount Utd side that were level on points with Celtic and a strong contender in the league. It was Castleknock who dominated from the off and it wasn’t long before top goalscorer Winston Wang put Celtic in the lead with a superb lob.

With Celtic playing the better football, they dominated for long periods.  It was only a matter of time before they extended their lead but to their credit Peamount fought hard and started to match Castleknock on the pitch with some great football and equalised soon after.

Winston Wang and Ayoub Khennache were causing major problems for Peamount and with strong tackling and great football from the Celtic midfield set up Winston for his second goal. But Utd just wouldn’t lie down and equalised for the second time It was a fantastic display of football by both teams and with 10 mins left Winston sprung the offside trap and slotted home to get another hat-trick and Castleknock’s 3rd and surely the winner but once again Peamount fought hard and got their reward with a coolly taken equaliser and made it 3-3.

Celtic had chances to win it in the last few mins with Franklin Izundu and Ethan Murphy but it wasn’t to be.

Well done to Peamount for matching Castleknock every step of the way but with Celtic having more of the chances it really should have been 3 points instead of 1. Nevertheless, well done to everybody involved. That was clearly their best performance of the season and the manager and coach are truly delighted with the way they played from the start.
