At a wet and windy Porterstown, Castleknock
overcame a plucky Orchard Celtic team, winning 4 – 1 to continue their winning start to the season.
Castleknock took the lead with a goal from Evan Lawlor, but Orchard equalised just before half time, after having a number of chances saved by Naoise McAloon, who has just returned from her goalkeeper coaching in England.
It was a fairly even start to the second half, until Gabby was taken down in the box, he got up and converted the penalty. With about 15 mins to go, the ball was cleared by Orchard, only as far as Gabby who was near the half way line, and he unleashed a rocket straight into the back of the net giving the keeper no chance.
Castleknock’s 4th goal came from the boot of Jack Bradshaw, after getting past a couple of defenders, he struck from the edge of the box into the bottom right hand corner.
