Celtic began their campaign with a home tie against Rivermount Boys which promised to be a close encounter.

This team is a merger of the Saturday and Sunday “A” teams from last year and are only getting to know each other.
The game started lively, with Celtic getting the feel of competitive football in the 11-a-side setting.
After 10 minutes, Celtic scored with a goal from Matthew Moran against the run of play, but it seemed to inspire the visitors more than the home team.
Five minutes later Rivermount capitalised on a number of defensive errors and equalised.
It wasn’t long before they went one up, again, defensive lapses.
Major changes at half time saw replacements up front and in midfield,
12 minutes into the half saw a corner for Rivermount, Jeremy hung outside the box and pounced on a clearance, He ran the length of the pitch outpacing the opposition and scored an audacious goal chipping the keeper from 12 yards.
This inspired the home team and 15 minutes from time Dylan was reintroduced. After 2 minutes he scored a great goal to put Celtic one up. The tie was sealed by a second from Dylan five minutes from time.
As a famous politician once said “a lot done, more to do”
This was a fantastic comeback and with hard work their future is bright.
