Castleknock keeper came up for the last gasp corner kick, and it was Ronan McGivern who rescued the point for Castleknock when he rifled home from close range in a goalmouth scramble.  1-1

AUL Prem C : Celtic suffer first defeat of season away to Ashbourne Utd when they lost 2-1.

DDSL 17 Major : Having looked comfortable for most of the first half, although not playing at full throttle, Celtic were stunned by a cracking Raheny Utd strike from 12 yards 5 minutes from half time.  The second half saw a much more focused performance by Celtic on their home patch in Porterstown.  Goalkeeper Kevin McGovern was leading from the back, giving very vocal encouragement to his players.  Nicky Kelly was in supreme form at full back and supporting on the left hand side of midfield.  It was however a very functional performance all-round which restricted the visitors to one attempt on goal in the second half.  Celtic’s industry was rewarded with 2 cracking goals after the half time break.  Arran Mooney hit a smashing 25 yard shot into the top corner to bring Celtic level.  It fell to Dave Beady, who was a close season addition to the squad, to finish off a superb flowing move to secure the 3 points in Celtic’s opening league game which augurs well for the season ahead.  Celtic are expected to go one better this season by securing promotion to the top Premier level, after narrowly missing out in the 2010/11 season.

DDSL 18Premier : Late strike from Drimnagh Celtic earned them the points in a very close match in Porterstown.  Aaron Commons had equalised for the home side which appeared to have secured a share of the spoils.  But a marvellous strike from 25 yards proved the difference between the sides in the end.  1-2
