“Younger Players Invitation” Under-8 blitz – Castleknock Celtic, Porterstown Click for Schedule of Games, etc. Date: 25th May, 2008 / 2pm to 5pm Prize ceremony at 5pm to 5.30pm Part of our Castleknock Celtic Under-8 talent will be on display on Sunday afternoon (2-5pm) next week! An under 8s blitz tournament will be held between Trim (Willie Mahon, Manager), Johnstown (Fergal Beirne), Castleknock Celtic (John Delaney) and St Itas Portane (Mike Robinson). In this event we have two country teams playing who both are used to playing 11-a-side games. This differs from our Dublin arrangements where 7-a-side is the norm. So the compromise is to play 9-aside teams (this took a lot of thought as you can imagine) and to see how teams from the various leagues compare! The schedule for the games on Sunday 25th May is below. Why not come along and give support to our players and enjoy this end-of-season event? Interested in playing football next year? If you are interested in registering your child for football next year with Castleknock Celtic, this is an ideal opportunity to get a sense of what is involved for the younger children (i.e. “fun”); and to get any practical advice or details you need from the club managers and officials who will be to hand to help you. Talk to parents to get a sense of this club and to understand the gentle and nurturing ethos that applies for the younger age footballers.
